From June 3 to 7, 2024, ENS de Lyon hosted an eco-responsible week. This served as an opportunity for all members of the school to learn more about various actions and themes linked to the ecological transition carried out at our institution.

Emmanuel Trizac, President of ENS de Lyon, supports the France Universités press releases and joins the academic community in expressing strong concerns about the measures adopted by the French Parliament on November 19, 2023.

The start of the 2023-2024 academic year at ENS de Lyon marks the beginning of a new phase for the institution, following a year of provisional administration. Appointed President on May 26, Emmanuel Trizac outlined his plans to the Board of Directors in July. The Board today approved the composition and remit of the new governance team. 

The international attractiveness of ENS de Lyon is a strategic priority, both in terms of training and research. As the new 2023 academic year begins, we take a look at some of the signs of the vitality and international recognition of our institution. 

Sports "discovery" week from September 4 to 8: come and try out the courses offered by the Sports Centre!

A series of events around the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia

From Monday 23 January to Friday 27 January 2023, the School provides a week of extracurricular activities for ENS students referred to as “normaliens” who are enrolled in the 1st year of the ENS de Lyon diploma. The objective of these activities is to increase awareness of our students about the complex issues we are currently facing and that we will face in the future (ecological and digital transition, new individual and collective risks, future of research, etc.). Please find below a preview program.

Studies and Research at ENS de Lyon: what will you remember about your time spent with us?

The first graduation ceremony of ENS de Lyon will take place on May 7, 2022.

Bastien Marguet, alumni of ENS de Lyon and PhD student at the Institut Lumière Matière (CNRS, UCBL), has won a place in the Final of the 2022 edition of the My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180) competition.

Studies and Research at ENS de Lyon: what will you remember about your time spent with us?

Organized by the Université de Lyon, the regionalfinal of the My Thesis in 180 Seconds (MT180) competition was played to a full house on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Bastien Marguet and Arthur Guerin-Turcq are the lucky winners of this local final. They will go to the national semi-final on April 8 and 9, 2022 in Paris.

ENS de Lyon holds the "Bienvenue en France" label, awarded by Campus France.

From the room known as the "Café des sports", one of the virtual videoconferencing rooms of the biology department accessible from the Study portal, François Roudier, Director of the department and Nathalie Alazard, Assistant Director, tell us about almost 4 weeks of intense remote work. Four weeks, three phases, a first assessment and a constant optimism despite the complexity of an ever-changing situation.

At the end of August this year, ENS de Lyon organized an integration week to welcome students from around the world, as part of its policy of increased international attractiveness.

The challenge: Students have to make their thesis topic easily understandable in clear, concise and convincing French or English – and with the help of only one slide! Participants are filmed under competition conditions, and a multidisciplinary jury chooses finalists based on the videos, rating each participant’s performance according to the criteria in the official rules
