The integration week ended with the traditional welcome by the President. New international students, welcome to ENS de Lyon!
As every year, the Office of International Affairs, in collaboration with the Language Center, organizes the Dicovery and Integration Week for the new international students arriving at ENS de Lyon, from August 25 to Thursday August 31. A week of support to enable new arrivals to familiarize with ENS de Lyon, discover their new city and learn French for those who need it.
International students arrived on the campus from Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 morning. After these few days of settling-in formalities, they have been accompagnied for a whole week, starting on the Friday 25 afternoon with the welcome from the Office of International Affairs and the Language Center.
On this week's program: visits to Old Town and Fourvière hill, a "pot luck" to share traditional dishes in a convivial atmosphere, health and wellfare activities, visit of the library and a presentation by ASSET, the international student club of ENS de Lyon.
The Language Center has provided half-days of "French as a foreign language" classes for students with beginner or intermediate levels of French. Students at a more advanced level have been invited to attend a workshop on ecological transition and climate change.
This welcome week will ended on Thursday 31, with the traditional welcome by Emmanuel Trizac, President of ENS de Lyon.
The experience of international mobility is an essential factor in opening up one’s horizons, and an indispensable part of training. Well, obviously, I am here preaching to the converted !
