An ENS delegation led by Pierre-Paul Zalio (President of the ENS de Cachan), Yanick Ricard (Vice-President for Research at the ENS de Lyon) and Arnaud Debussche (Vice-President for Research & International affairs at the ENS de Rennes) went to Tunis from June 20 to 23 juin 2016.
The purpose of this visit was to strengthen pedagogical and scientific relations with the ENS de Tunis, a historical partner of the French ENS, as well as with other higher education and research institutions in the region: the University of Tunis, University of La Manouba, University of Tunis El Manar, IPEST (Preparatory Institute for Scientific and Technical Studies), Ecole Polytechnique de Tunisie, and IRMC (Institut de Recherche sur la Maghreb contemporain).
For the ENS de Lyon, prospects of cooperation in training and research look very promising, including with the University of La Manouba, University of Tunis and Ecole Polytechnique.
The delegation also had a working meeting with the Tunisian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr Chiheb Bouden, during which they discussed in depth various topics relating to the organization of higher education and research: excellence programmes, structure of the various ENS, agrégations, student mobility, continuing education for teachers, etc.
This mission was co-organized and sponsored by the French Institute of Tunisia.
