Amongst the top 5 projects selected at national level during the second wave of the call for projects from the "Instituts Convergences" of the PIA, two have been awarded to projects managed by Université de Lyon as well as researchers from ENS de Lyon. They are:

• PLASCAN, Institut François Rabelais (cancer)
• LUS, École urbaine de Lyon

The Instituts Convergences aim at "structuring a few, large scale, high profile multidisciplinary sites to better respond to major issues at the crossroads of societal challenges and economic issues, as well as responding to questions raised by the scientific community".
