Doctoral studies and joint diplomas
ENS de Lyon and the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL) are two institutions characterized by training through research at the highest level, and are very complementary.
Having developed co-operation in research in various disciplines, since 2012, both institutions have committed on a long term basis to form a privileged strategic alliance in training and research.
New original international training programs, combining basic research and engineering, have been developed:
- Signature of an agreement awarding joint doctoral degrees in all disciplines: a thesis, two thesis directors, two research laboratories with a doctoral diploma awarded by both establishments.
- A new joint Master’s degree, over three years leading to:
- Master’s in Sciences, Technology, Health, option Computer Science, Fundamental Computer Science program from ENS de Lyon
- Master’s of Science (MSc) in Communication Systems from EPFL (certified by CTI, the French Engineering Accreditation Commission.)
These degree programs have been added to the joint Master’s degrees that already exist in Biology, Bioengineering and in Life Sciences and Technologies and discussions are currently in progress for Chemistry.
