The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women takes place every year on November 25. ENS de Lyon is more involved than ever through its commitments and its action plan in place since spring 2021.
Background/United Nations
Invest to Prevent Violence Against Women & Girls!
The General Assembly of United Nations adopts a resolution officially designating 25 November as the International day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent and pervasive human rights violations in the world. Globally, an estimated 736 million women — almost one in three — have been subjected to physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both, at least once in their life.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will mark the launch of the UNiTE campaign #NOEXCUSE (Nov 25- Dec 10) — an initiative of 16 days of activism concluding on the day that commemorates the International Human Rights Day (10 December).
Reporting Process Guide
The prevention commission has produced in 2022 a guide on the system set up at ENS de Lyon, so that everyone can be aware of this initiative. The production of this guide was financed by a grant received as part of a call for projects from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. ENS de Lyon benefited from this financial support.
This guide, written in French and English, is available on the School website.
