From June 3 to 7, 2024, ENS de Lyon hosted an eco-responsible week. This served as an opportunity for all members of the school to learn more about various actions and themes linked to the ecological transition carried out at our institution.
Various workshops, conferences and visits were organized throughout the week. Monday was dedicated to mobility, with a bicycle repair workshop run by the ENSelles association and Les Cycles du Rhône. A total of 23 bikes were repaired or reconditioned during the day, as well as at the second workshop the following day. At the same time, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region organized the "Challenge Mobilité" (Mobility Challenge), in which ENS de Lyon took part as well. The aim being to encourage people to adopt a more suitable mode of transport, such as cycling or public transport, on a day dedicated to sustainable mobility.
Throughout Wednesday and right up to the end of the eco-responsible week, various visits to the Descartes campus garden enabled members of ENS de Lyon to learn more about plants, how they reproduce, the Gilles Clément garden in motion, the pond and the birds that inhabit the garden. A very important area for biodiversity in the city!
Last but not least, digital technology was also at the heart of the issues addressed during the week. A digital fresco and stands for recovering computer equipment were set up, as well as the opportunity to attend two lectures organized by the DSI and the Blaise Pascal center on green digital technology.
All in all, a week was focused on the various challenges of the ecological transition, bringing together all of the school's members and enabling them to make joint progress on these essential issues.
