Biography

Professor Fabienne Dumoulin is currently an Associate professor in Turkey in the Medical Engineering Department of the Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University, a non-profit university in Istanbul. She went on to study chemistry at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, obtaining her PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2002. Professor Dumoulin subsequently held positions as Senior Associate professor in the Chemistry Departments of Gebze Technical University and the Medical Engineering Department of Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University.

Collaboration with IHRIM Laboratory

Professor Dumoulin's visit is part of a decade-long collaboration that has developed around various photo-active systems for biomedical applications and photodynamic therapy, resulting in five publications and numerous student exchanges. This multi-disciplinary research project continues with the arrival of Fabienne Dumoulin, who will take advantage of the Chemistry Laboratory's equipment to carry out photophysical and photochemical measurements on molecules being synthesized in her own laboratory. Dr. Fabienne Dumoulin's expertise in the chemistry, synthesis and control of phthalocyanine properties will open up new horizons in a number of areas currently being developed, mainly in the field of photoactive molecules and materials. This visit represents a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the links established over the years.
