The "Plant computational biology workshop" was held from August 29 to September 2 at the ENS of Lyon.
Following the 10th edition of the International Plant Biomechanics Conference, the satellite Plant Computational Biology Workshop took place.
Organized by the RDP and the Sainsbury Lab at Cambridge University, it brought together European leaders in the field and about 60 participants.
This workshop is part of a larger movement of strong integration between biology, mathematics and physics to better formalize the hypotheses and guide the experiments. The RDP laboratory is a pioneer in this field, along with a few other international laboratories. Far from reducing life to equations, the aim is to focus on the major questions in biology, to explore new concepts, to support creativity in plant science research through interdisciplinarity.
