Biography

Rim Hammoud is a faculty member in the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University. She holds a PhD in chemistry didactics from ENS de Lyon, which she defended in 2012.

She is interested in collaborative research between scholars and school stakeholders. Since 2018, she has developed a collaborative educational research network in Lebanon called Lieux d'éducation associés au Liban (LéAL) with the aim of promoting collaboration between researchers from the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Lebanese University and school actors around the theme of interdisciplinarity. The LéAL network, which is based on the LéA-IFÉ system, is based on a process of co-development and co-construction of knowledge between scholars and practitioners, leading to the production of new resources for teaching, education and research.

Rim Hammoud's educational research is part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach within the LéAL network. Her work focuses mainly on teachers, and more specifically on the transformations in school players and their professional practices brought about by their involvement in collaborative research dynamics within the LéAL network.

Collaboration with IFE

Rim Hammoud has been closely involved with the LéA-IFÉ network since its inception. Indeed, having conducted her thesis between 2009 and 2012 at the S2HEP laboratory, which then depended on the University of Lyon 1 and the IFÉ-ENS de Lyon, she was part of the LéA-IFÉ network's steering committee and was responsible for managing its website in 2011-2012. Since 2015, she has been a regular participant in LéA-IFÉ events. Since 2020, she has been coordinating partnership activities, working closely with the scientific managers of the LéA-IFÉ network, and also contributes to the monitoring of the LéA-IFÉ network and its strategic and scientific orientations as a member of its scientific committee.

Its close links with the LéA-IFÉ network have enabled it to develop a partnership between LéA-IFÉ and LéAL, which was institutionalized in 2024 by an agreement signed between the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEES), the Centre de Recherche et de Développement Pédagogiques (CRDP) du Liban, the Institut Français du Liban (IFL) and IFÉ-ENS de Lyon. This agreement defines the nature and terms of the partnership between the aforementioned bodies in the field of collaborative research associating the LéA-IFÉ and the LéAL for the benefit of the French and Lebanese education systems.

Rim Hammoud's visit is the continuation of a collaboration that began several years ago.  Rim Hammoud's role as coordinator of the LéAL network, her links with IFÉ and the Lebanese CRDP, and her thesis defended at the ENS de Lyon give her a strategic, scientific and cultural position of choice to contribute to synergy between the LéAL network and the LéA-IFÉ network. Her presence at IFÉ will provide an opportunity to work on a comparative analysis of the methods used in the LéAL and LéA-IFÉ networks, with a view to highlighting collaborative approaches and the concrete ways in which they work together. Emphasis will be placed on studying the professional development of teachers involved in collaborative research.

His presence is thus an opportunity to contribute to the development of the LéA-IFÉ network's expertise in collaborative processes and the professional development of those involved in collaborative research. This expertise is a resource not only for supporting and leading the LéA-IFÉ network, but also for the “Passeur en éducation” school diploma at ENS de Lyon. In addition, her arrival at ENS de Lyon will facilitate the enrichment of partnerships and the strengthening of existing collaborations with educational and research institutions between Lebanon and France.
