At the very end of a high-level final, the team of physics students from ENS Lyon finished second in the International Physicists' Tournament 2019, which was held from April 21 to 26 at EPFL in Switzerland.
The final had started well, ENS de Lyon took the lead in the first round, where the String shooter problem was discussed. But the game changed in the second round, dealing with the Water dancing ball. The Ukrainians regained the lead and the Polytechnicians made a good comeback. This was confirmed in the third and final round, about the Tesla coil engine, where the X students gave themselves a record score and thus won the title, with 42.33 points. ENS de Lyon had to settle for second place, with 41.17 points, and the National University of Kharkiv completed the podium, with 39.83 points.
Winners of the French Physicists' Tournament 2019 last February (the national competition), the physicists of ENS de Lyon can be very proud. Of course, they did not win like their elders in 2016, but they did well. See you next year to do even better!
