The Journées Francophones de Virologie is the annual congress of the Société Française de Virologie (SFV), and returns to the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon in 2025! The conference brings together 500 participants, including researchers, engineers, technicians, students, pharmacists, veterinarians, doctors and professors. The themes addressed provide a global vision of advances in the field of molecular and cellular virology, whether medical, veterinary or plant-based. General plenary lectures are complemented by specialized parallel sessions dedicated to the presentation of original work submitted by participants. This is an excellent opportunity for PhD students, post-docs and young researchers to present their research work. In addition, poster sessions are organized to award the Renaud Mahieux Prize for the best posters. This prize and the prizes for the best theses in 2024, awarded in collaboration with ANRS MIE, are awarded after brief oral presentations in plenary sessions.

In 2025, the JFV will have the pleasure to:

  • organize for the first time a session dedicated to SFV's young virologists on Wednesday April 23 from 10am to 12pm! On the program: captivating testimonials from virologists with diverse backgrounds (Véronique Brault, Nolwenn Dheilly and Bruno Spire), an interactive question-and-answer session, and a convivial activity to encourage exchanges and forge links within the community;
  • organize a conference for the general public on Wednesday 23 April at around 7pm by Serge Morand: "How are epidemics born? "
  • organize a round-table discussion on the theme: "Interconnecting human and social sciences for viruses of interest in public health" (Bruno Spire, Isabelle Arpin, Lorenzo Subissi, Marc Barbier and Timothée Bruel).
