In the framework of the BIOSANTEXC project, the Office of International Affairs of ENS de Lyon hosted a get-together on October 5th to welcome interns and visiting professors from the IISERs. The interns come from the IISER Mohali, Tirupati and Bhopal and are currently doing their internships at ENS de Lyon in different laboratories: the LBMC (Laboratory of Biology and Modeling of the Cell), CIRI (Centre international de recherche en infectiologie) and IGFL (Institute of Functional Genomics of Lyon).
The visiting professors attended the get-together as part of the BIOSANTEXC researcher mobility campaign and also through the short-term search trips (SRTF) campaign launched by the French Embassy in India. This call for projects to fund short-term research trips to France was also an opportunity to combine resources in order to promote exchanges and strengthen Franco-Indian ties.
We plan to welcome further interns and professors starting spring 2024. A BIOSANTEXC Workshop gathering our French and Indian partners, will also be held in France in June 2024.
BIOSANTEXC
Integrated Research Oriented Training Network in Life Sciences through Interdisciplinary Approaches
The Franco-Indian campus in life sciences for health Biosantexc aims at creating a network of excellence, conducive to the development of scientific cooperation, based on joint training programs at Master and Doctorate levels. The main objective of the project is to address societal challenges in life sciences and health, including research on climate and ecological transition. The members of the consortium rely on the articulation between human sciences and life sciences to stimulate projects on the concept of “One Health”. The entire project is based on a close link between training and research through interdisciplinary approaches.
Biosantexc is a project funded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. It is coordinated by ENS de Lyon; IISER Pune is the coordinator for the Indian partners.
