Congratulations to Amélie Joly (IGFL) and Lise Morlet-Decarnin (LPENSL).
Two female researchers from ENS de Lyon, among the 35 promising female researchers, were awarded the 18th L'Oréal-UNESCO France Young Talent Prize for Women in Science: Amélie Joly and Lise Morlet-Decarnin.
Amélie Joly works at the Institute of Functional Genomics of Lyon (IGFL), focusing in particular on the body and how it responds to protein malnutrition during childhood. Her work should make it easier to prevent malnutrition and tailor treatment for children suffering from malnutrition according to their sex. She has been awarded the prize in the ‘Women's health, paediatrics and young adult health’ category.
Lise Morlet-Decarnin is a researcher at the Physics laboratory of ENS de Lyon (LPENSL), carrying out research in atomic physics. Focusing on cellulose nanocrystal gels, she hopes to use them to manufacture more environmentally-friendly materials. She has been awarded a prize in the ‘Analysing, anticipating and predicting’ category.
‘In order to promote promising young female researchers and accelerate their careers, the L'Oréal Foundation, in partnership with the French Academy of Sciences and the French National Commission for UNESCO, is unveiling today, for the 18th consecutive year, the names of the 35 doctoral and post-doctoral students who will be awarded the France 2024 L'Oréal-UNESCO Young Talent for Women in Science Prize.’
