Created 5 years ago, the IGFL sequencing platform (PSI) carries out high-throughput sequencing projects using latest generation technologies (NGS). The PSI quickly gained expertise in the implementation of atypical projects, requiring methodological development. Our platform offers a wide range of applications: De Novo Sequencing, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, Dual RNA-seq, AmpliSeq, Single Molecule Sequencing, CRISPR screening. We are pleased to inform you of its latest developments.

Supported by the ENS de Lyon, the platform expanded at the end of 2017 and is now implanted on 2 sites (IGFL and Monod). In these new premises, and before the end of 2018, the platform will provide clean rooms to work on degraded, delicate DNA, or DNA in a limited quantity, offering to the community of Lyon, in particular, a privileged access to a high technology environment.

In addition, since last November, the platform has new NGS sequencing technology with the arrival of a Illumina NextSeq500 sequencer. It was acquired thanks to the financial support from the ENSL, the CNRS and the LBMC, the FRM and the IGFL. This new sequencer complements and diversifies the current PSI machines comprising of three other sequencers using two other technologies: Ion Torrent (Proton and PGM, Hydrofisher) and Nanopore MinION (Oxford Nanopore Technologies). After a period of staff training and the successful implementation of pilot projects, we are pleased to inform you that this equipment has been accessible to users, both academic or private, since January 2018.

Since its opening, the platform aims to continue developing new fields of sequencing applications while individually assisting users in their projects, from experimental design to production and data analysis.
