The exhibition is postponed to the fall. More information to come.
The exhibition tells the story of the Giant impact and the Moon formation in the context of the geological evolution of the Earth and of the solar system. This rediscovery of our geological universe is presented in 250m2 of exhibition rooms, through science and art. This exhibition brings together a unique selection of samples from the National Museum
of Geology in Bucharest and from private collections. They are complemented with new media, such as a hologram, a planetarium, and 3D prints, with large-scale posters and archive images and with images of the latest research performed in scientific laboratories. From a fragment of the oldest meteorite of our solar system to a fragment of the youngest rock formed on the surface of our planet, passing through the electronic density of degassing magma, the exhibition opens a door to the modern world of simulations and experiments that take mineralogy to the 21st century.
Realization: Răzvan Caracaș (PI), Léna Martin (curator), and the IMPACT team (Mandy Bethkenhagen,Tim Bögels, Anaïs Kobsch, Zhi Li, Renata Schaan, Natalia Solomatova).
