Monday 11 February marks the 10th consecutive International Day of Women and Girls in Science. It's an opportunity to remember the importance of promoting equal access and participation in science for all. And to find out about the initiatives taken by ENS de Lyon to encourage more women to take up science, particularly in fields where they are under-represented.

ENS-IISER partnership - Ananya Chandra's experience at the Laboratory of Biology and Modeling of the Cell
As part of the ENS-IISER partnership, Ananya CHANDRA, IISER Mohali’s student in Cell Biology, has completed her six-month internship at the Laboratory of Biology and Modeling of the Cell (LBMC) in early 2024.

As part of the ENS-IISER partnership, Raghav GALGALI, IISER Bhopal’s student in Biological Sciences, has completed his six-month internship at the Institute of Functional Genomics of Lyon (IGFL) in early 2024.
In the framework of the BIOSANTEXC project, the Office of International Relations of ENS de Lyon hosted a get-together on February 3rd 2025 to welcome interns and PhD students from the IISERs.

ENS de Lyon has become the coordinator of Nanomer, its first Erasmus+ Capacity Building project. Nanomer is a great initiative in the field of nanoscience which involves both research and education. It also aims at sharing knowledge and building a lasting partnership between Latin America and Europe. With 16 partner institutions from France, Spain and Latin America, this project carries strong human and academic values.

Thomas Buchert, professor at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and member of CRAL's AstroEns team, has been awarded the international Tullio Levi-Civita prize for his innovations in Relativistic Cosmology.

Since 2010, the East Asia Institute (IAO) has been celebrating the Lunar New Year at ENS de Lyon. Through its association with this global event, which brings together nearly a billion people every year, the strength of the School's links with Asia is also expressed. A cultural and joyful tribute, whose beautiful posters, over the years, retrace the programme.
