In early February, the European Association of Geochemistry (EAG) awarded the H.C. Urey Prize to Janne Blichert-Toft, CNRS Research Director at LGL-TPE. Janne Blichert-Toft has made a major contribution to the advancement of knowledge in geochemistry, particularly in the study of planetary mantles and the Earth's crust.

The start of the 2023-2024 academic year at ENS de Lyon marks the beginning of a new phase for the institution, following a year of provisional administration. Appointed President on May 26, Emmanuel Trizac outlined his plans to the Board of Directors in July. The Board today approved the composition and remit of the new governance team.

Selected amongst a shortlist of 8 projects, the final Biosantexc proposal "Integrated research-oriented training network in life sciences through interdisciplinary approaches" is to be submitted this Friday, September 30. The consortium consists of the 4 French Écoles Normale Supérieures, the 6 Indian Institutes of Science, Education and Research (IISER) and 4 other Indian research institutes in medicine and life sciences. Results are expected to be announced at the end of October.

Bastien Marguet and Arthur Guerin-Turcq are the lucky winners of this local final. They will go to the national semi-final on April 8 and 9, 2022 in Paris.

Laclarée is one of the start-ups that has been hosted in the ENS Lyon incubator. The company develops adaptive glasses to correct presbyopia. These glasses integrate a patented technology of lenses that automatically adjust in optical power so that the object looked at is always clear, whatever the observation distance.

ENS de Lyon is the first institution in France to invest in the only instrument in the world that allows the simultaneous manipulation and visualization of interactions between single biomolecules in real time. 8 teams in 3 laboratories – LPENSL, LBMC and RDP – are now working with this instrument.
